Daytona Beach, FL - The Halifax Humane Society (HSS) has announced their Pals of Animal Welfare and Sheltering (PAWS) Summer Camp 2017.

Kids aged 6 to 11 can attend to learn more about the shelter through tours, HHS staff, HSS veterinarians, dog trainers, animal experts and a field trip to the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet. Service dogs, the Daytona Beach Police Department K-9 Unit, an owl and reptiles will be brought in for the kids to see and learn from.

"Its a great way to get to know a lot about animals, to interact with animals, to find out why Halifax Humane Society exists and what we actually do here as far as saving and protecting animals who are homeless," says Barry Kukes, the Community Outreach Director for the HHS.

The kids will be split up into two age groups, ages 6 through 8 and ages 9 through 11. Camp for those aged 6 to 8 is June 19 through June 23 and July 10 through 14 from 9 AM to 3 PM daily.

Camp for ages 9 to 11 is June 5 through 9, June 12 through 16, July 17 through 21, and July 31 to August 5 from 9 AM to 3 PM daily.

Both camps are located at the HHS, 2364 LPGA Boulevard, Daytona Beach.

"Its $150 dollars for the entire week. That includes a T-shirt. That includes the field trip to the Marine Science Center. That does not include lunch, so they have to bring their lunch everyday," says Kukes.

Registration can be competed online here.
