Daytona Beach, FL-Renovations have been completed for a $1-million construction project at Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach. PR Specialist Tangela Boyd said the expansion of the Betty Jane France Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is very exciting. The NICU went from nine to 14 beds and features an open-concept design that allows the medical center’s experienced clinicians to care for babies utilizing a team approach. Amenities include a certified infant massage specialist, an isolation room, state-of-the-art flooring and lighting, and a breast milk storage area. Boyd said the NICU is Volusia and Flagler counties only 24-hour facility offering Level II service for infants. It's named for a long-time supporter, Betty Jane France. The NICU is staffed by board-certified neonatologists and nurses who specialize in neonatal care. To take a virtual tour of the renovated NICU, click here.
