Ormond Beach, FL - Deputies were first told that her father tried to stab her, but later on they found out it was the other way around.

Just before eight o'clock last night (April 8th), the Volusia County Sheriff's Office received reports of a domestic disturbance at an Ormond Beach home off of Shockney Drive.

When deputies arrived they met with 24-year-old Alexis Hamm who said that her and her father had gotten into an altercation.

Hamm told deputies that her father had physically charged at her and pushed her onto the couch before striking her several times on the shoulders with closed fists.

But, as deputies looked for injuries on her person they couldn't see. She told them that he must have not hit her hard.

She then claimed that after she was hit, her father went into the kitchen and tried to stab her with a large kitchen knife, claiming that he punctured her upper inner left thigh and walked away.

As VCSO interviewed Hamm, they noticed that her eyes were bloodshot and her breath smelled of alcohol.

After deputies finished up with Hamm's interview, they made contact with Hamm's grandmother.

Her story ended up being the complete opposite of Hamm's account.

According to her, Hamm and her father were engaged in an argument about Hamm's dog. The argument ended up escalating when Hamm went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife.

She then charged at her father, holding the handle and bearing the knife as if she were going to stab him.

The father grabbed Hamm as she approached him and defended himself by throwing her onto the couch. The two then began to struggle as the father tried to get the knife from Hamm. At that point, the tip of the blade punctured Hamm's thigh.

After speaking to the grandmother, deputies met with the father who confirmed her account of the altercation.

Then, deputies confronted Hamm about the inconsistencies in her story. She admitted to lying about the incident because she wanted her father to leave.

Once her father realized she was being arrested, he immediately recanted his story.

Hamm was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault. Records show she's currently in custody at Volusia County Jail with no bond.
