Clearwater, FL – It looks like former Volusia County Manager Jim Dinneen might not have to go too far for his next job.
He’s on the short list of candidates being considered by the Pinellas County Commission for its open administrator position.
Dinneen is one of six from Florida being considered for the job, which has a pay scale roughly equal to what he made yearly in Volusia County, according to this Tampa Bay Times report.
He officially retired last month, negotiating his final day to June 22nd after a concerted effort by Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood, Volusia County Council member Heather Post and others to have him removed.
Prior to that, Dinneen faced a hail of public criticism over his job performance, including from local police and fire unions who complained for years about understaffing and his handling of the medical examiner’s office.
