Volusia County, FL - A former Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) telecommunicator and his wife were arrested on Tuesday after being charged with sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl. 28-year-old Tyler Bush-Conn, of South Daytona, and his wife, 27-year-old Talisha Bush-Conn, of Deltona, are separated. They were investigated by police at their separate residences beginning Monday night after VCSO was contacted by authorities in Alabama regarding an active child exploitation investigation involving the girl, who said she had been sexually abused by the man and his wife. Police searched the husband's home on Banana Cay Dr. in South Daytona and the wife's home on Snook Dr. in Deltona from Monday night into Tuesday morning. The husband was arrested at 3:52 AM and the wife was arrested at 6:55 AM. The exact time frame of the abuse is not confirmed but believed to have started in 2016, according to VCSO. Detectives determined that the abuse took place on several occasions at the Bush-Conns’ previous home on Wade St. in DeLand and at the victim’s home in Deltona. The victim told police that the husband had sex with her on multiple occasions and took pictures of her while she was naked. Detectives say that the wife engaged in at least one sexual encounter with the girl as well. Tyler Bush-Conn worked as a telecommunicator for the VCSO from March 2014 until he was fired in October of 2016. Talisha Bush-Conn is employed by Volusia County EVAC Emergency Medical Services. Tyler Bush-Conn is charged with sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12 and lewd or lascivious molestation. Talisha Bush-Conn is charged with being a principal to sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12, lewd or lascivious exhibition, child abuse, and child neglect. The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are pending. The husband and wife are being held without bond at the Volusia County Branch Jail. Their two children are under the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
