Former State Rep. From Daytona Beach Indicted For Embezzling Campaign Money

Florida - Former State Representative, Dwayne Taylor, Daytona Beach, was indicted Thursday by federal prosecutors for violation of state law by embezzling money from his campaign.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Taylor falsely claimed thousands of dollars in campaign spending in order to conceal cash withdrawn and checks written to himself.

According to the report, Taylor was charged with 9 counts of wire fraud, which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for each count, if he is convicted.

The case is under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
