Florida - Florida has been named the most sinful state in the nation by a 2018 study conducted by WalletHub, a personal finance company.
To rank all 50 states, WalletHub researched the following seven metrics: anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity, and laziness. These metrics included statistics on each state’s rate of violent crime per capita, thefts per capita, share of obese adults, casinos per capita, average time spent on adult entertainment websites, beauty salons per capita, share of adults not exercising, and more. According to the study, Florida ranks as the overall most sinful state in the nation, followed by California, Nevada, Texas, and Georgia. The complete rankings can be found in the chart below. The study also found that the State of Florida ranks first in jealousy, fourth in vanity, seventh in laziness, eighth in lust, and 21st in anger and hatred.

While WalletHub says that each state has its own vices and virtues, they concede that the entire nation shares the cost of these sins.
