Florida - Florida was named the best state for higher education by U.S. News & World Report's 'Best States' higher education rankings.
According to U.S.News & World Reports and data collected by McKinsey & Company, Florida ranked number 1 in the 'Best States for Higher Education' category and number 3 in the 'Best States for 2-Year College Graduation Rates' category.
Among pertinent information in the data collected: the time it takes students to complete both 2- and 4-year college programs; the cost of college tuition; fees, state-by-state; and the burden of debt that college graduates carry.
In the category, '4-Year College Grad Rate,' which considers the number of students at public colleges finishing in 6 years or less, Florida holds a 50.8% rate.
