Flagler County, FL – Flagler County has unveiled a new talent recruitment website which also serves to showcase the county and the region.

“Availability of a skilled workforce is one of the most critical factors to recruit companies,” said County Department of Economic Opportunity Director Helga van Eckert, and according to her, YouCanInFlaglerCounty.com “is a talent recruitment initiative.” However, she was quick to point out that the site is not a classified ad – “it’s not just a listing of jobs in the area.”

On the sites home page, there’s a tab called “I Want…” This is where users can find a variety of information about Flagler County by clicking on categories like “I Want Food,” or “I Want To Shop.” This is also where users can find the link to the page “I Want To Find A New Job,” where job opportunities in the area can be seen.

Another feature of the site is that it highlights public and private schools, including colleges and universities.

The site is filled with photo’s submitted by locals. “About 85% of the photos used were from the ‘Show Us Your Flagler’ photo contest,” said Lili Tuggle-Weir, who works for the Department of Economic Opportunity.

Committe Member Bob Alex was full of praise for van Eckert and Tuggle-Weir, who designed the site, for their efforts. “I think we will be rewarded with this site,” said Alex. “It is very exciting and we are looking forward to the fruits of all this labor.”

As van Eckert said, “The site is a resource for anyone interested in living here, working here or just learning more about the county and our region.” And according to van Eckert, this is just the 1st stage of a larger plan to bring talent to Flagler County.
