Palm Coast, FL - A Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) K-9 helped stop a man in Palm Coast who deputies say stole money out of a victim's car. Deputies responded to the scene at Big Bear Ln. in Palm Coast at approximately 1:45 PM on Tuesday after a victim called 911 and said that a man stole money from his vehicle and ran down the street. After establishing a perimeter, Corporal Fred Gimbel and his K-9 partner, Marko caught up to the suspect, 24-year-old Deon Oneal Jenkins. Gimbel apprehended Jenkins, and Marko bit Jenkins on the forearm, according to FCSO. Jenkins was placed under arrest. He was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment of the bite wound, and then he was booked in the Flagler County Detention Facility. Jenkins is charged with burglary of an automobile, trespassing, petit theft, and resisting arrest without violence. He also has an outstanding warrant in Volusia County for violation of probation for a domestic violence charge. He is being held without bond.
