Bunnell, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) will host a Quarterly Awards Ceremony to honor great achievements by the Sheriff's Office and the community.

The ceremony will take place on July 18 at 1:30 PM at the Sheriff's Operation Center at 901 E. Moody Blvd in Bunnell. FCSO employees will receive awards for going above and beyond the call of duty, and Sheriff Rick Staly will also recognize two community members for their heroic deeds which helped save the lives of complete strangers. In addition, Employees of the Month for April, May, and June will be named.

Susan Seitzberg will be honored with a Lifesaving Award for helping a 19-year-old with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man wouldn't have survived without Seitzberg's immediate care, according to doctors.

Another community hero, Ladena Rutland, will be recognized for "Good Samaritan" efforts in driving two boys, who were severely injured by fireworks, to the emergency room. The children were seen running from the Dr. Carver Gym bathrooms after playing with fireworks, and Rutland's quick response got the children urgent medical attention. One child had a badly injured hand, and the other's face and chest were severely injured.

"I'm honored to be able to recognize these outstanding citizens who selflessly helped those in need. I'm also proud of our agency personnel being recognized We have wonderful, hard-working employees who go above and beyond to serve and protect," says Staly.
