Tallahassee, FL - The State Commission on Ethics voted unanimously today to fine Flagler County Sheriff Jim Manfre $6200 for ethics violations. The commission deciding to accept the recommendation of a judge in the case. The three violations date to 2013. The action today also included a public reprimand and censure of Manfre.

Manfre was quick to respond with a written statement. "Ultimately, I do take responsibility for all of my actions and do want to put this matter behind us; however, with a good conscience, I do not believe the penalties proposed by the ethics commission are appropriate based on my actions, nor are they equal to sanctions provided others," Manfre wrote.

"I have never violated any state law or agency policy or procedure and intend to appeal this affront to our system of laws. I am certain that an unbiased district court of appeals will overturn this biased decision," he concluded.
