Flagler County, FL –  A man was arrested Monday for burglarizing a neighbor’s home after they evacuated for Hurricane Irma. “Any dirtbag looking to take advantage of people during this storm will be arrested and taken to the Green Roof Inn, also known as my jail,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly on Friday during a Hurricane Irma update. According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), Andrew David Gross, 36, threw a cinder block through his neighbor’s sliding glass door while they were evacuated. Gross entered the home and stole jewelry and several other items. “This is not the way we look out for our neighbors,” said Sheriff Staly. “The entire state is dealing with the effects of Hurricane Irma. This is a time to come together as a community and help each other. Now we have one more dirtbag in the Green Roof Inn, just as I promised.” Gross was charged with burglary and grand theft. He is currently being held at the Flagler County Detention Facility on a $5,000 bond.
