Flagler County Conducting Search For Superintendent Of Schools

Posted

Flagler County, FL - The School Board of Flagler County has begun the search process for the District's next Superintendent of Schools, with a goal of having a new Superintendent by June 1.

The current Superintendent, Jacob Oliva, has been selected as K-12 Vice-Chancellor with the Florida Department of Education. The Board has contracted the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) to lead the search.

Because this is such an important decision that impacts students, parents, employees and the entire Flagler community, a Community Advisory Committee has been created from a cross-section of Flagler County to take part in the search. Public involvement is welcomed and an online survey is being utilized to give the community a voice in the process.

The "Superintendent Search" section of the Flagler Schools website is being used to keep the public informed, has a schedule for the search, and links to meeting videos and related documents.

On April 16, finalists for the position will be interviewed in Flagler County. On April 19, the District will host a community reception where residents can meet the candidates.

The online survey is open now and will close March 17. To participate in the survey, click here.
