Flagler County, FL - The 2018 committee assignments have been selected by the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).

These selections allow Flagler County commissioners to better understand the community's diverse viewpoints and better their own expertise on various subjects in order to make informed decisions for the County.

“I am really looking forward to working with Tourist Development Council,” said Greg Hansen. Commission Chair. “I think that it will be my biggest job this year, and I really am looking forward to digging into that work.”

In 2018, Hansen will also belong to the Friends of A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byways Group, A1A Scenic Pride, and the Artificial Reef Technical Advisory Committee.

Donald O'Brien, Vice Chair, will now belong to the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia County, Economic Opportunity Advisory Council, Flagler County Chamber of Commerce and Affiliates, School Planning Oversight Committee, Workforce Development Board of Flagler and Volusia County, and the Value Adjustment Board.

Commissioner David Sullivan will serve on the Canvassing Board, Heritage Crossroads: Miles of History Heritage Highway, Library Board of Trustees, Northeast Florida Regional Council, and the Value Adjustment Board.

Commissioner Nate McLaughlin will be a part of the Public Safety Coordinating Council, River-to-Sea Transportation Planning Organization, Town of Marineland CRA Board, and will be an alternate for the Small County Coalition.

Commissioner Charlie Ericksen will serve the Family Life Center, Flagler County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, Flagler County Department of Juvenile Justice Council, George Washington Carver Center Governance Board, Juvenile Justice Circuit Advisory Board, Management Advisory Group for GTMNERR, School Planning Oversight Committee, Small County Coalition, Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board, and will be an alternate for the Canvassing Board.

“I enjoy being involved. There is more to being a commissioner than being on the dais during meetings,” said Ericksen. “I go to a lot of committee meetings whether they are my responsibility or not. Some of the committees, like the Family Life Center, well, I just think we can do more for abused women. I’m a cheerleader.”
