The replacement timeline affects Dune Walkovers at 13th Street South, 15th Street South, 17th Street South, North 20th Street, and North 22nd Street. The affected Dune Walkovers south of SR 100 (13th, 15th, and 17th Streets South) will undergo pile driving operations between April 12 and April 21. From April 23 through May 25, crews are scheduled to construct the Dune Walkovers’ deck, bracing, railings, and steps.

The affected Dune Walkovers north of SR 100 (North 20th and North 22nd Streets) will undergo pile driving operations between April 23 and April 30. Deck, bracing, railing, and step construction is scheduled for May 29 through June 15.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) has provided the permits for the replacement of the Dune Walkovers. Those permits are currently being reviewed. The aforementioned dates are tentative and subject to change. If dates do change, the City of Flagler Beach will release an updated Public Service Announcement.

“As a City, the replacement of Dune Walkovers that were destroyed by Hurricanes Matthew and Irma has been a priority and a lot of hard work has been put in to make this a reality,” said Larry Newsome, City Manager. “I’m proud of the work that’s been done so far and we’re looking forward to these five (5) Dune Walkovers being replaced and re-opened to the public in mid-June.”
