FL Jobless Rate Ticks Up For Second Month In A Row

Volusia County, FL-New jobless numbers out from the State of Florida show unemployment up for the second month in a row and that’s something that has never happened before under Governor Rick Scott.

FL Department of Economic Opportunity Director Cissy Proctor says, “You gotta look behind it and see what’s creating it, right? So, if we are having an increase in our labor force and in our labor force participation rate those are good things.”

The jobless rate hit 4.9% in November. The month was a good one for job creation, though, and added almost 20,000 new jobs.
