Firefighters Working 2 Brush Fires In Oak Hill On Friday

Oak Hill, FLUpdate: According to the Florida Fire Service (FFS) the brush fires in Oak Hill are now %100 contained. The fire is still putting up smoke and drivers should use caution in the area.

The Volusia County Professional Firefighters Association reported that the 2 brush fires were at 175 N. US1 and 310 E. Halifax Ave., Oak Hill. The fire at US1 grew from 1 acre to 10 acres. Volusia County Fire Rescue crews, Brevard County Firefighters and the FFS were working the fires.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service Fire Management Division for the Southeast Region reports that homes are no longer in danger and crews are finishing up.

Earlier Reporting: Firefighters were battling 2 brush fires in Oak Hill Friday afternoon.

WFTV-9 News reports the fires were burning close to homes and businesses.

The fires were near East Halifax Ave.
