Flagler County, FL-An investigation is underway after a 57-year-old female inmate suffered an apparent seizure at the Flagler County jail and died at Florida Hospital Flagler. She suffered the apparent seizure Sunday morning only hours after being booked into the jail.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating which is normal procedure under the Flagler County Sheriff's Office policy.

The inmate, Kathleen Feiler of Palm Coast, was arrested Saturday at 7:45 p.m. on a show-cause order, an order requiring she be held until a court hearing could be held. Feiler had been committed under the state Baker Act earlier this month after she was prescribed medication for treatment of anxiety and had been found to be abusing the drugs. An earlier court order issued in February required Feiler meet certain conditions of outpatient care for what was described as her "drug seeking behavior." A judge was going to decide if she was in indirect contempt of court of that order.

Jail staff says Feiler didn't show signs of being intoxicated when she arrived at the jail.

Feiler was heard making loud noises around 1:28 AM and appeared to be having a seizure. She was unresponsive.

Paramedics took her to the hospital. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
