Daytona Beach, FL-FEMA officials have been here this week checking out damage from Hurricane Matthew. Now FEMA has oked individual assistance for uninsured and underinsured losses. John Mills, FEMA spokesman, was a guest on Volusia Today on WNDB and made the announcement about individual grant assistance. Mills said FEMA help for individuals is intended for the portion of the damage you may have suffered that may not be covered by insurance or if you were underinsured and have what Mills called "unmet needs" for losses related to Matthew. FEMA says the first step is to contact your insurance company and then file with FEMA. Mills says you can go online to disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA). The FEMA website is here. Individual assistance from FEMA has been extended to four Florida counties including Volusia and Flagler counties. 2016 Southern Stone Communications Copyright
