FDOT To Hold Public Meeting In DeBary On Improvements To I-4's Saxon Interchange

DeBary, FL - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to I-4 at the Saxon Blvd. interchange. The meeting will take place Wednesday, February 7, at the Gateway Center for the Arts, located at 880 N. U.S. Highway 17 in DeBary from 5-8 PM. The meeting will be an open house format, and the public will have the opportunity to view displays and ask questions about the proposed I-4 improvements during the meeting, but there will not be a formal presentation, according to a news release from FDOT. The planned improvements are part of a long-term proposal to expand and improve I-4 beyond the current I-4 Ultimate project. The plan would focus on improving traffic flow at the eastbound I-4 exit to Saxon Blvd. by realigning the exit ramp, adding a traffic signal at the end of the ramp, and adding a third lane on eastbound Saxon Blvd. between the ramp and the intersection of Finland Dr. About four miles of I-4 would also be resurfaced from west of Saxon Blvd. to east of State Rd. 472. Anyone needing special accommodations to participate in this meeting is asked to contact David Parks, Public Communication Coordinator, at 844-858-4636 or email davidparks@i4ultimate.com. If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact the agency using the Florida Relay Service, 1(800) 955-8771 (TDD) or 1(800) 955-8770 (Voice). Written comments will also be accepted at the meeting and for ten days after the meeting. Photo courtesy infinity21 and Shutterstock.com Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2018.
