Edgewater, FL-Watch for signs and work zones along SR5/US1 in Edgewater over the next months. Work got underway this week. The project runs for 8 miles from South Street in Oak Hill to Magnolia Drive/Shangri-La Circle in Edgewater. FDOT officials say the project includes milling and resurfacing, as well as new sidewalks on both sides of the roadway where there are currently no sidewalks. The work at signalized intersections will also bring them into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA. The project is expected to be done in early 2018. Expect lane closures for paving at the south end of the project. Nighttime lane closures will happen at the northern end of the work zone. Electronic signs will warn drivers about closures. 2016 Southern Stone Communications Copyright
