FCSO Will Check That Registered Sex Offenders Follow Rules For Halloween

Flagler County, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO), along with Probation and Parole Services, is planning to check in on sex offenders ahead of Halloween to make sure they are following the rules and regulations surrounding the holiday. According to FCSO, there are 105 registered sex offenders in Flagler County, and 21 of those offenders have specific rules they must follow stating that they are not allowed to hand out candy or leave their porch lights on during Halloween. These rules are designed to protect children from potential threats. Deputies and detectives will visit the homes of all 21 of those offenders who have these restrictions on Halloween day. "There are strict rules for sex offenders in order to make sure everyone stays safe. Halloween is a fun holiday for children and families, and we want to make it as safe as possible," says Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. You can visit the Florida and National Sex Offender Database to check for sex offenders that may be living near you or neighborhoods where you and your kids may be trick-or-treating. You can find a link to that database here. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2017.
