FCSO: Signs Offering "Legal Weed" In Palm Coast Likely A Scam

Posted
Palm Coast, FL - Signs offering "Legal Weed" have been popping up all over the city of Palm Cost. According to Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly, when you call the number on the sign, the person that answers will tell the caller that they can give them a license to buy medical marijuana legally. A caller would then have to give their credit card and driver's license information to the person on the phone. Sheriff Staly wants to clarify that this is a potential scam and a license is not required to buy legal medical marijuana. To buy legal medical marijuana, you have to have a valid prescription, which you can learn more about here. “Don’t be taken in with the hope of getting medical marijuana," says Sheriff Staly. "The only thing you will get is the loss of your money; this is truly ‘smoke and mirrors.'" Sheriff Staly asks that you help in making people aware of the scam.
