Flagler County, FL – Sergeant Mike Lutz of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) received a special commendation medal for his service as Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer on Monday afternoon.

The award was presented by the Flagler Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SOAR), and the president of the Chapter, Randall Morris, says that the medal recognizes exceptional service and accomplishments in the community.

Lutz has been with the FCSO since 2003, and before that, he had been an officer for 35 years. He served 20 years with the NYPD. Lutz serves on many teams for FCSO, including supervising the Marine/Dive unit, the Crisis Negotiations Team, the Neighborhood Watch Program, and the Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy. He is also a member of the Critical Incident Management Team.

“It is Sergeant Lutz’s hard work and dedication that has made every program he has created or been involved in a success,” says Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly.
