FCSO & JAXImpact Discuss The Importance Of Driving Sober With Palm Coast Teens

Posted
Palm Coast, FL - On Thursday, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) and JAXImpact delivered two separate presentations on the moral and legal importance of driving sober to a group of Flagler Palm Coast High School students. According to the FCSO, Carl Harms lead a presentation geared towards making seniors aware of the dangers and potentially fatal outcomes of driving under the influence. Students heard true stories from parents of teens who lost their lives as a result of a DUI crash. Students then had the opportunity to see a real DUI crash and tour the Sheriff Taxi Car.

“With the senior Prom coming this weekend, now is probably the most important time to try to make an impression on these kids,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “We stand 100% behind JAXImpact and their message. Hopefully, hearing the stories of these parents and seeing a DUI wreck with their own eyes will deter some from making a bad decision that changes the rest of their lives.” JAXImpact is a community organization dedicated to sharing people’s stories about how irresponsible driving has impacted them in hopes of preventing similar tragedies from happening in the future.
