Palm Coast, FL - A new deputy with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office saves a man's life.

That's the story from FCSO after they tell us Deputy Anthony Bifano (right), saved a man who stopped breathing.

According to FCSO, deputies received a 9-1-1 on Kalorama Court in Palm Coast after a woman said her husband became unresponsive and stopped breathing. Deputy Bifano and his Field Training Officer Deputy Jacob West as the first to arrive.

Deputy Bifano located the patient and immediately began CPR while Deputy West retrieved their automated exterior defibrillator (AED).

The attempts with the AED were unsuccessful and Deputy Bifano continued CPR for four minutes until Flagler County Fire Department arrived on scene.

Personnel with the fire department and staff at Florida Hospital Flagler say that man's life was saved thanks to Deputy Bifano's response.

“I am proud to have Deputy Bifano on our team,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “He remained calm and

collected during a very stressful situation and was able to use his knowledge and skills to save this

man’s life. Great job by Deputy Bifano and FTO Deputy West!”

Deputy Bifano was hired as a Deputy Sheriff on June 4th.
