2 Killed In Rollover Wreck On I-95 In New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach, FL - Update: Two visitors from Virginia were killed in a fatal wreck on I-95 in New Smyrna Beach on Thursday morning.

Nila (61) and Melissa (37) Ritenour, both from Virginia, were driving north on I-95 in a 2015 Toyota SUV at around 9:20 AM on April 13. Anthony Luciano, 39, of California was also driving north on I-95 in a 2014 Honda 4 door. For an unknown reason the

For an unknown reason the Toyota, driven by Nila Ritenour, drifted from the center lane into the left lane. Luciano swerved to the left to avoid a collision, but he overcorrected and the right side of the Honda hit the back of the Toyota, causing the SUV to flip multiple times. The Ritenours weren't wearing seatbelts and they were both ejected from the vehicle.

The Ritenours died from their injuries. Luciano's being treated for minor injuries at Halifax Medical Center. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

FHP is still investigating the crash.

Two people were left dead Thursday morning in a crash involving two vehicles on I-95 in New Smyrna Beach.

The crash happened near New Smyrna Beach, on northbound I-95 at the 249 mile maker, just north of SR-44.

As of 11:30 AM, troopers were still on the scene of the fatal wreck and I-95 N wasshutdown.
