Emergency Restriction Order For Palm Coast Doctor

Posted

Palm Coast, FL - A local doctor is one of a number of healthcare practitioners in Florida who received a license suspension or restriction during the month of June. The Florida Department of Health imposed an Emergency Restriction against Florence R. Fruehan of Palm Coast Urgent Care on June 29 after allegations that he was inappropriate with patients. The alleged incident took place on May 24th, involving a 54-year-old Palm Coast woman. The woman told an FCSO deputy that she'd gone to see Fruehan in order to get a narcotics prescription refill to control seizures. The alleged victim's statement said that Fruehan wrote her prescription.  The statement went on to say that Fruehan asked her if she was married.  She responded that she was a widow.   Fruehan then asked if she had a mammogram.  The woman said that he told her to follow him into what she thought was his office but turned out to be an examining room. In the statement, she reported that Fruehan grabbed through her shirt and bra. When he let go, he said, "I'm sorry your husband died," and walked out of the room. FCSO is investigating the claims. The Restriction Order prevents Fruehan from treating and/or interacting with female patients without being accompanied by a healthcare professional who has a clear, active license with the Department of Health. Fruehan will have a formal hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge at the Division of Administrative Hearings. The case has not yet been referred for a hearing. FCSO is asking that any patients of Dr. Fruehan who feel they had an inappropriate experience contact them to file a formal complaint at 386-313-4911.
