Election Day Went Smoothly In Volusia County

Volusia County, FL- Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis said that her first time as the boss during a primary election went smoothly on Tuesday. Two voting units in one precinct stopped taking ballots but Lewis said they were changed out quickly and voting continued.

Lewis said the vote-by-mail and early voting results were uploaded first. The results from all 125 precincts in Volusia County were uploaded before 9 P.M. Lewis said that this was a very quick election.

The results are unofficial right now and Lewis said the reason for that is provisional ballots and unscanned ballots still have to be counted. The canvassing board will take care of those votes on Thursday afternoon. Lewis said the vote will likely be called official at that time.
