Edgewater District 2 Council Woman Resigns

Edgewater, FL - After more than two months of turmoil in the Edgewater City Council, one of three who voted to fire longtime city manager Tracy Barlow, hands in her resignation. Councilwoman Amy Vogt posted on social media this past Sunday, her intention to move to Kentucky. This afternoon, Vogt emailed her resignation to City Clerk Robin Matusick. The letter states that Vogt's resignation is effective today, January 4th. The reason for the resignation: Vogt will no longer be residing in her district. Vogt became District 2 City Council person in 2016. There are nearly two years left in her term. Vogt's sudden resignation will cost Edgewater an estimated $30,000 for a special election to replace her.
