Daytona Beach, FL - An Easter Sunday fire at a Daytona Beach apartment complex has left one man with minor burns and 20 adults and 10 children homeless.

The Daytona Beach Fire Department was called to the fire at the Tzadik Bay apartments, 1213 South Beach St., at around 4:30 PM on April 1. When firefighters got to the scene, one apartment was fully involved with flames coming through the roof.

All the occupants were able to get out on their own, but one man was transported to the hospital for minor burns and smoke inhalation. Officials say four units were damaged by the fire and another four were affected by smoke.

DBFD has determined that the cause of the fire was careless smoking. The blaze started on the porch of one of the units on the second floor then spread to the adjacent apartments.

The fire, which has been deemed an accident, has left 20 adults and 10 children displaced. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to those who were displaced by the fire.
