Daytona Beach, FL - Two Daytona Beach Apartment's were severely damaged in an early morning blaze on Monday.

Several engines from the Daytona Beach Fire Department and one from South Daytona were called to the Preserve at Rivers Edge Apartments at 1401 S. Palmetto Ave. in Daytona Beach just after 6:30 AM on March 5. When firefighters got to the scene, the fire was already fully involved and was affecting two units at the apartment complex.

Officials say there were fires on the ground floor and on the second floor unit of Building 4. Three residents were inside when the fire started. They were all able to get out on their own and, luckily, no one was injured.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze, but not before extensive damage was done to the two apartments. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
