Volusia County, FL- A three-vehicle accident this morning resulted in only minor injuries for the drivers but caused big problems on WB I-4 near DeBary. All lanes were closed for a short period of time and traffic was backed up for more than five miles.
The accident happened around 4:10 A.M. FHP said that the driver of a dump truck was behind a pick-up in the right lane approaching Dirksen Drive. A man driving heavy equipment was on the right shoulder.
The pick up slowed to get behind the heavy equipment but the driver of the dump truck did not, causing a rear-end collision. The force of the collision caused the pick-up to run into the heavy equipment and leave the roadway. The driver of the dump truck received a ticket for reckless driving. The accident was cleared around 8 A.M.
