Drugs & Over $60K Found In Deltona Home; Lbs Of Pot Stored In Toddler's Room

toddlers-room Deltona, FL - A Deltona man was arrested on Wednesday after deputies searched his house and found over $60,000 in cash, 3 loaded guns, 2 grams of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, and 5 1/2 pounds of marijuana in a toddler's room. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office had gotten complaints of drug sales out of 762 Leeward Dr back in October and investigators have been covertly monitoring the home since then. Deputies along with members of the Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Deltona Street Crimes Unit went to the house with a search warrant just after 11 AM on Wednesday. The suspect, 42-year-old Jose Ramon Hidalgo, was put in handcuffs and a woman and 2 kids were brought out of the house. Deputies found about 5 1/2 lbs of marijuana packed in vacuum-sealed bags in the toddler's bedroom closet. They also found a backpack in that closet with 3 digital scales and 6 glass Mason jars filled with pot. In the master bedroom deputies found 3 loaded firearms and $1,100 in cash In an attached garage they found more large bags of weed and several small bags packaged for sale. A cooler was also found with bundles of cash totaling $60,000, 2 grams of heroin, and 16 grams of cocaine in small bags packaged for sale. Hidalgo's facing charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was brought to the Volusia County Jail and was released early Thursday morning after posting his $18,000 bond. cash hidalgo-mug
