Driver In Ormond Beach Wendy’s Crash Identified

Ormond Beach, FL-The man involved in an early morning crash at the Ormond Beach Wendy’s has been identified as 46-year-old Woodrow W. Fennell of Ormond Beach.  The Ormond Beach Police Department suspects that Fennell suffered a medical episode before the accident.  Fennell was on his paper delivery route near 170 Williamson Boulevard before crashing into the restaurant located at 75 Williamson Boulevard.

Investigation shows that he left the parking lot in an easterly direction at a high rate of speed, crossed both southbound and northbound lanes of Williamson Boulevard and entered the Ormond Town Square parking lot before crashing into the Wendy’s Restaurant. The vehicle completely entered the dining area before coming to a stop. Mr. Fennell was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. No other persons were inside the building at the time of the accident

Police suspect that Fennell had a medical episode.

The call came in to 911 at 3:14 AM about the vehicle crashing into the closed business.
