Disaster Assistance Center Reopens At Flagler Beach Wickline Center

Flagler Beach, FL - For those residents still looking to sign up for disaster relief assistance, the Wickline Center in Flagler Beach will reopen Sunday as an assistance center. The Flagler County Assistance Center at the Wickline Center at 800 S. Flagler Ave. will be open between the hours of 1:30 PM and 7 PM Sunday through Thursday. At the Wickline Center, residents can sign up for FEMA assistance, get questions answered, and meet a team from the American Red Cross and Flagler County Social Services. “The American Red Cross has identified 1000 residents in need of recovery assistance,” Janet Nickels, Human Services Program Director says. “They will be bringing a spiritual director, and they will be determining who is hardest hit.” Social Services will provide wrap-around services, and the Red Cross provides some initial financial assistance, but does not provide long-term case management. The agency requires only one household member to apply, but requires proof of residency – like a utility bill and photo identification with a current address. Those who have not yet done so may also register online with FEMA at https://www.disasterassistance.gov. The FEMA helpline number is 800-621-3362, and TTY users can call 800-462-7585.
