Deltona Woman Charged With Leaving 4 Kids Alone In 'Hazardous' Home

Deltona, FL - A Deltona woman is arrested after deputies say she left four children, all under the age of 10, unattended in a home that smelled of fecal matter and rotting food. Deputies first responded to the home on Landover Avenue in Deltona yesterday evening after reports of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived at the home, they found four children (ages 7,4,1 and 1) all alone.  There was broken glass, food and liquid on the floor throughout the home. The back sliding glass door was left open, and according to Sheriff's Office reports, the condition of the home was "hazardous" to the children. One of the children had a laceration near the back of his ear. There was even a car parked in the driveway with a bullet hole through the front windshield. A witness had reported that one of the adults, who lives at the home, 26-year-old Aisha Pounds, had gotten into a fight with her husband.  A neighbor told deputies she did not know where Pounds was at the time. Pounds was later tracked down at a friend's house on Woffington Avenue. She said the report of a domestic disturbance was a misunderstanding, but she was charged with four counts of child neglect and was taken to Volusia County Branch Jail on a total of $6,000 bond. Deputies are still searching for another suspect involved in this case, and the case has been reported to the Department of Children and Families for review. Since this is a pending case, more information about the second suspect has not been officially released. Pounds's mugshot courtesy of Volusia County Jail.
