Daytona Beach, FL - United States Senator and Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine spoke at Daytona State College on Tuesday afternoon.

Prior to his appearance on stage, the VP nominee toured DSC's Mori Hosseini College of Hospitality and Culinary Management.

"We kicked off the campaign... I was rolled out by Hillary Clinton as her running mate in Miami, and here we are in Volusia County and Daytona," said Kaine, addressing a packed crowd of over 500 people at DSC. "I think you can see... Florida is really, really important to us!"

Kaine's stop in Volusia County was a continuation of the Democrat's job tour which focuses on his and Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's plan to build an economy that "works for everyone, not just those at the top." Kaine opened his speech by saying, "I'm so happy to be here to talk about jobs, but also to talk about the training and skills that you need to get the good jobs."

According to Kaine, "there hasn't been anyone nominated by a major party for President who is as qualified as Hillary Clinton in a very long time, if ever."

Kaine also touched on climate change, the Zika virus and its presence in the Sunshine State, and there was no shortage of jabs at Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump. According to Kaine, in this election, the American electorate will choose between a "'you're hired' president or a 'you're fired' president."
