Deltona, FL - A Deltona woman has been charged with second-degree murder after Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) says she stabbed a co-worker to death at a Deltona Burger King. VCSO says 29-year-old Samantha Bonilla, of Deltona, was caught on surveillance video stabbing 29-year-old Justin Hooks, of Hernando County, FL. The stabbing occurred on Tuesday morning at around 2:31 AM at the Burger King at 2790 Elkcam Blvd. The surveillance video shows Hooks and a friend sitting together outside the Burger King and playing cards at a table. According to VCSO, Bonilla got into a confrontation with Hooks, moved toward him, and pointed a knife at his face. Hooks pushed Bonilla. Bonilla fell to the ground and dropped the knife. She picked the knife up again, stabbed Hooks, and then left. Hooks, the friend, and Bonilla all worked at the Burger King together. Deputies say that it appears the altercation seemed to be related to intimate relationships Bonilla had with Hooks and the other co-worker. Bonilla drove off and flashed her headlights to flag down a deputy. A witness also reported the stabbing. Hooks was pronounced dead at Halifax Health Hospital in Deltona at around 3:25 AM. Our hearts go out to (the victim's) family and friends," says  Andrew Gant, Public Information Officer for VCSO. "It's a shame that the defendant, in this case, has thrown her life away too, because she's going to  go behind bars for years for what she did."
