Deltona Man In Protective Custody After Firing Shots On Neighbor’s Property

Deltona, FL – A 75-year-old Deltona man was taken into protective custody on Wednesday night after he went onto his neighbor’s property and fired several shots into the ground and the air.

In a social media post, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said they believe the man was experiencing a mental health episode. He was safely taken into custody, and according to VCSO, no one was injured during the incident.

The man has been placed in protective custody and will be given a mental health evaluation. Traffic on Holand Boulevard in Deltona was shut down for a short time near where the shooting occurred.
