DeLand To Increase Water Conservation Efforts During Dry Conditions

DeLand, FL - In compliance with the water shortage warning order issued by the St. John's River Water Management District, the City of DeLand will make efforts to increase water conservation as the area experiences extraordinarily dry conditions.

Additionally, we are urging all residents and our water customers to look for ways to save water.

Here are some tips on how to conserve water:

• Turn off the tap when brushing teeth
• Turn off the tap while washing your hands
• Fix your leaks
• Cut your showers short
• Take your car to the car wash, which uses recycled water
• Don't run the dishwasher or washing machine until it's full
• Minimize outdoor irrigation
• Conduct outdoor watering in the morning hours to reduce evaporation
