DeLand, FL - DeLand police have made an arrest in connection with a string of recent vehicle burglaries.
41-year-old Brian K. Ashley was arrested on Friday and charged with 2 counts of burglary of a conveyance. Detectives believe Ashley was the one who burglarized two vehicles in northeast DeLand earlier this month.
One of the burglaries occurred in the 900 block of East Carolina Ave. A gold necklace, debit card, cash, and other miscellaneous items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Detectives believe over a dozen more vehicle burglaries were committed by Ashley.
The DeLand Police Department urges residents to remove valuables or keep them out of sight and to always lock vehicle doors at night.
