Orange City, FL- The father of a one-year-old girl is charged with child neglect, after leaving the child in his vehicle for about 45 minutes.
VCSO deputies responded to the call on Sparkman Avenue in Orange City. Upon arrival, a resident of the neighborhood said he'd seen the man, 25-year-old Andrew Kay, walking around a vehicle parked on the street. The resident asked Kay if he knew people in the house he was in front of. Kay responded yes but the people in the house said they did not know him.
The resident said Kay took the baby out of the car. He took the baby from Kay because he thought Kay was under the influence. Another resident reported Kay walked around his vehicle for about 45 minutes.
The baby was checked out and medically cleared by EVAC. The child's mother arrived and took custody of her. Kay's bond was set at $5,000.
