Volusia County, FL – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) is investigating the death of a 36-year-old female Volusia County Branch Jail inmate.
On Friday at around 6:30 PM, Desiree McFarlane, 36, was found unresponsive in a jail shower. Before being taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, CPR was given. Earlier this week, it was reported that McFarlane attempted suicide.
At this time, there is no further information about the case. VCSO detectives are currently investigating.
