DBPD's New Chief Is Set To Name His 2nd-In-Command

Daytona Beach, FL - At 10 AM on Friday, the Daytona Beach Police Department will officially get its next Deputy Chief.

Captain Jakari Young, a 16-year law enforcement veteran, will be named DBPD's 2nd in command at a ceremony at police headquarters. Current Chief Craig Capri was sworn in just last week and was Deputy Chief before taking over the top job at the department.

Young runs the department's Criminal Investigations Division and he has a Master's in criminal justice from Bethune-Cookman University.
