DBPD Vehicle Set On Fire In Front Of Islamic Center

Daytona Beach, FL- A marked Daytona Beach police car, used as a “ghost car,” and parked near the Islamic Center located at 347 S. Keech Street, was set on fire around 2:30  A.M. Sunday. The DBFD arrived on scene in reference to a vehicle fire to find the police vehicle fully engulfed.  There was a note left stating: Black Lives Matter A Sterling P Castile “f” the Police. The note refers to two fatal police shootings recently of black men. Speaking to the media Monday, Police Chief Mike Chitwood said it's hard to police when dealing with fanatics The investigation into the fire will be led by the State Fire Marshall’s Office as the incident appears to be arson.
