Volusia County, FL - Update: The Daytona Beach Police (DBPD) transport officer accused of exposing himself and asking a prisoner he was transporting to perform a sex act was officially fired on Thursday. Nicholas Aitchison has been officially taken off the transport schedule, and his DBPD-issued equipment has been taken away. Earlier Reporting: A Daytona Beach Police transport officer was arrested after he exposed himself to a woman he was transporting from the Daytona Beach Police Department to the Volusia County Jail and asked the woman to perform a sex act. 28-year-old Daytona Beach Officer Nicholas Aitchison had been investigated for over four months after the May 30th incident. During what was supposed to be a 6-mile routine transport of a woman who was under arrest, Aitchison made a detour onto Old DeLand Rd. in Daytona Beach and stopped the van. While Aitchison and the woman were stopped, he asked the woman to perform oral sex on him, according to the incident reports provided by Volusia County Sheriff's Office. He also touched the woman against her will. The woman refused his advances multiple times, and Aitchison then continued to transport the woman to the Volusia County Jail. The stop was recorded by the van's surveillance video. The woman reported the incident after being booked in the Volusia County jail, and she decided to press charges. On October 6, Aitchison was arrested by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, and he posted bail shortly after being released. His charges include battery, indecent exposure, and kidnapping/false imprisonment. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2017.
