Daytona Bank Robbery Suspect Turns Self In

UPDATE (03-08-19): Daytona Beach police announced on their Facebook page that the suspect has turned himself in. He was identified as Sorrell Davis, a Holly Hill resident.

As of this morning, Davis is held on $2,500 bond at Volusia County Jail on a robbery charge. Jail records show the 33-year-old has been booked there six times between December 2003 and August 2005.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Davis served over 12 years in a state prison starting in February 2006 for leaving the scene of an accident where at least one person was hurt and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. He was released in July 2018.

Daytona Beach, FL - A bank is offering $5,000 to anyone with information that leads to a robbery suspect's capture.

Earlier today around 12:15 p.m. (March 7th), an unknown black male entered the Wells Fargo branch on 828 White Street and joined the teller line.

According to police, when he approached the window he said that he was there to rob the bank and the teller had five minutes to give him money.

The teller placed an unknown amount of money through the window. Police say he didn't display or insinuate that he had a weapon.

He left the bank in an unknown direction.
