Daytona Beach, FL - A Daytona Beach Police Officer saved the life of a woman experiencing cardiac arrest.

Officer Richard Maher responded to an apartment complex on Bill France Blvd. on the morning of March 26 where he found an unconscious woman slumped over the wheel of her car.

He was the first on scene and performed CPR until the Daytona Beach Fire Department arrived and took over patient care. She was transported to Halifax Hospital.

DBFD Lt. Sean Tyree, lead paramedic, credited Maher with saving the woman's life. "We are very grateful for Officer Richard Maher's training and quick actions," said DBFD Chief Driscoll, "and happy that these two departments can share such a strong partnership in our city."
